About
the RNA
The
Regent Neighborhood Association in Madison, Wisconsin, exists to
promote neighborhood civic-mindedness; to maintain and improve the
family and residential qualities of the community; to maintain
appropriate relations with local businesses, landlords, and renters;
and to improve the quality of the schools, green spaces, transportation
services, and other municipal services serving the neighborhood.
The boundaries of the neighborhood are Breese Terrace, Campus Drive,
Franklin Avenue, Speedway, and the bike paths running from Glenway
Street to Breese Terrace.
Membership is open to all persons residing in the
association’s
area who are at least 18 years of age. The association is governed by a
Board of Directors comprised of the officers and officer-elects
(president, immediate past president, secretary, and treasurer), five
at-large members, and the chairs of the standing committees. All terms
are one year, commencing at the annual membership meeting in May.
The Bylaws
of the Regent Neighborhood association further describe the
association’s operational and philosophical guidelines.

SCHOOL SAFETY AND SECURITY
You should call the MADISON POLICE DEPARTMENT
(911) if you witness any crime
in progress to include:
drug dealing, graffiti, arson, gambling, etc. if you are witnessing
other types of suspicious behaviors, which may or may not be indicative
of illegal activities, do not hesitate to call the command staff of the
South Police District at 266-5938.
The South District is located at 825 Hughes Place. The command staff of
the South Police District includes Captain Jim Wheeler, Lt. Jane
Stoklasa (patrol), and Lt. Wayne Strong (detectives).
The following
information is needed to make the most efficient use of our resources:
Description of
the behaviors.
Description of the individuals involved to include race, sex, size,
clothing, etc
Location.
Times that the behavior occurs.Any vehicles associated with the
behaviors to include make, model, color, and license plate.
You should call WEST
HIGH SECURITY at 204-4128 if you observe any
of the following
Loud,
boisterous, disturbing behavior
Littering
Loitering – students just hanging out
It will be
important for you to provide the following information:
Description of the problem (1,2,3 above)
Description of the youths involved – clothing, race, size,
and any other identifying features (vehicle, location).
Your telephone number and name – we will never share this
information with offenders, but it will allow us to contact you to
share our findings or clarify your information.

UNIVERSITY AVENUE REDELOPMENT
At the July 4th picnic residents were asked to fill out a questionaire
based on input from a May 12 meeting to discuss the redevelopment of
